Setting Modern day Japan.

Minami, Ushio, and Yuhi Shimabara travel to Barrow/Barou (the spelling varies even in the anime) Island because they receive a letter from Joel saying that their older bother, who had been missing for some years, is there. There they meet Neo Ranga Guardian of the sea seen as a God by the islanders. Neo Ranga is half plant half robot and some other unknown stuff. Neo Ranga follows the orders of the King of the island and since the 3 sisters� brother was the king they inhered Neo Ranga. When the sister returned to Japan Ranga follow because he is to always stay by the Kings side and protect him or in this case them. This causes problem because the people do not trust Ranga and there are some people in power who fear Ranga will inhibit their plan to unify Japan and return it to a past way of life.

The first thing I want to say about this series is that the first season was not necessary only the first 2ep. Most of the actions occurs in the second season, season 1 is all back-story. The fact that the episodes are 15min long made it seem longer then it really was. Once again they did not have to do that since most episodes continued into each other. One story/adventure would only last 2 or 3ep max. I also thought it was strange how the anime would go from really lam drawings to really good; the chicks seemed to really change. I think they did it to show when something was really important. Overall the anime was ok, I would recommend watching episodes 1and 2 then all of season 2.
